YALL I WAS NOT PREPARED. First I went into this totally blind like barely looked at the cover blind. I just heard such good things and immediately dove in so I did not realize it was MM 😂😂 Imagine my surprise. However, it made no difference to me. Still loved it. The story was so good. And the spice was off the charts. I had to pause because it had me blushing so hard.

My first MM read. I went in blind. The spice was spicing! The story flowed perfectly. The trauma was handled with care and understanding by the author, and I will be investigating more of their books.

It was a 10/10 for me. Highly recommend.

I'm not into the taboo stepbrother trope but this book was surprisingly good! ALOT of smut and longer than it should be butttttt that's okay.

Avi is a teenager when his mother tells him she is dating a man and they get married. The son’s name is Karan and he hates him. Overtime the hate turns into love in a desperate situation. From high school to college to the NFL they grow in mind and spirit for each other falling in love with every flaw, trauma, and quirk in each other. I was kicking my feet at times and the scenes were frequent and very involved. Not gonna lie I didn’t think I would like this book but it grew on me and for once I didn’t mind that a romance book was 23 hours long. The characters are dimensional and make the story real. The growth that they faced was fantastic and I could read more slice of life content from them. The writing pacing and conflict was good however the stepbrothers me to death like we get it it’s forbidden. Overall very good book and a pleasant surprise.

It did get a bit long in the tooth towards the end, but it is a great book and I adored the MCs. I also appreciated the focus at the end on the survivor working through some trauma in their own tome/space, instead of being "magically fixed" by their love interest which is absurdly common. The spicy scenes were sometimes great, sometimes okay, and the dirty talk was not generally my thing, felt very repetitive and a bit cringey. Overall very enjoyable.
