this is my first reread of this book, it was the first series i’d ever read other than Harry Potter and it got me back into reading, so when i was 12 i thought it was great. But now i’ve reread it, after reading so many other awful books, i realised how crap the writing style is 😭. you can really see how Tahereh’s writing has improved from Shatter Me to This Woven Kingdom

how to review this book…? I was hesitating between 2 and 3 stars to be honest.

good points are that I really want to read the next books because it can only be better than this one.

bad points :

• the characters were not it, Adam is very random, Juliette is kinda boring and doesn’t have an interesting personality (for now), Warner is kinda scary and strange, I liked Kenji but basically that’s it
I really hope we are going to meet new characters in the following books or at least have a glow up from Warner and Juliette.

• the plot could be interesting but is not well developed, we don’t know much from that alternative universe and it’s kinda disappointing.

• as for the romance… Juliette and Adam are boring, they kinda came out of nowhere and I don’t really feel alchemy between them. I was really looking forward to see Warnette since everyone praised it but I still have to wait.

not a bad point here but I don’t trust this revolution… everything is too perfect.
