I REALLY didn't like this book. Here are the reasons why:
- I am sure it was written to deter people from experimenting with drugs, but the author only ever talked about how great she felt when she was high.
- The author's use of caps lock was ridiculous, random, and after a while pointless. If caps lock is used for emphasis, you can't use it three times per paragraph in every single paragraph.
- I don't understand how the protagonist throws caution to the wind and willingly tries every single drug that crosses her path. Had she never heard of the laundry list of negative side effects of these drugs? Meth, cocaine, ecstasy. Seriously? How is a teenager's life so "boring" that she needs to frequently use hard drugs? This is weirdest to me because she has a great family, a relationship with her parents I would be willing to bet very few teenagers have. She is a good student. She is active. She is attractive. She has prospects. I don't understand how she could so desperately need the attention and friendship of people like Ross, Lauren, Ian, and Blake.

Overall, I would recommend this book only if you are looking for something you can read to pass the time. The writing was annoying and unoriginal. The protagonist was unbelievable.

I feel like you can't compare this book to the others due to the fact that they are all based on true stories, but I have to stay this book just felt more real then Go Ask Alice and Jays Journal. I have an addiction to reading these kinds of books and this one defiantly pulled at my heart strings.

just like Go Ask Alice, Lucy in the Sky is a heartfelt fast read kind of novel. The deep feelings, written on a journal bring the reader close to the narrator, almost as if you are the one who wrote this diary and you're re-reading it just for old times sake. I recommend it highly to Alice fans as well as Amy Reed's.

i give up at this point.

Like go ask Alice this book was really sad and showed how fast someone's life can take a turn for the worse. I think teenagers should read one of these books to open their eyes to that dangers of drug addiction

Four stars because i read it in 2 days lol.

This book was pretty good and quick read but was not great. It was not really my type of book but it was pretty interesting to read about all the things we hear about happening but never really see (and don't necessarily want to see). Lucy was an interesting character that seemed very real as she did not think she was perfect and at first, felt bad for giving into her friend's peer pressure and she wanted to change her ways but it was easier for her to give in. I didn't really like the characters : both their personalities and their choices were not very admirable. As much as the perspective in this book talked about how fun and cool everything that happened was, it only made it all seem more dangerous and bad to me especially because of the way their seductions over came them, even when they got help. This book would be a good recomendation for someone who was having difficulty making good choices, to help them see just how bad one little bad choice could be.
