The book starts slowly with a large cast of characters, but if you stay with it, you won't be able to put it down!

Excellent first person accounts of the Warsaw Jewish resistance. Could have used more historical and social context to make the reader more fully understand events
This non-fiction story was filled with the true stories of the very young Jewish women in Poland who endured unthinkable deprivation, sadistic torture, and so much more, in a effort to save as many Jews as possible. The author went to great lengths to research this account. Interesting chapter on why the stories were well told about the women’s work. Also interesting to see pictures of a few of the ladies who managed to live into their 90’s; many in Israel.

If anyone sees this, I implore you to read this book!!! It is tragic and empowering! I grew up learning about about the Holocaust but never learned anything about these courageous and fierce resistance fighters. A little slow at the beginning and end but so well done in the middle.
Difficult to read in parts due to the descriptions of the terrible atrocities that happened during the war, but this book was absolutely phenomenal.
