One of my friend told me to read the book last week and I think this is the fastest book I've ever finished. Story is great and it will keep you up at night.

Page turner is definitely a phrase I would associate with this book. It was so interesting, and equally terrifying, to learn what goes on behind the scenes of an event such as this - especially knowing this is a true story. The world is smaller than we think. But it also gives perspective that the entities involved are comprised of humans trying their best to tackle the situation at hand. I would recommend reading this book, especially if you're in the public health space or interested in entering into it.

I recall this being an interesting exploration of medical epidemics. One of my parents most recommended books, even my dad, who doesn't read books.

Bwahahaha. This book is gross and kinda scary but I couldn't turn away. It's really interesting!

Terrifying!

I read this during the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic (perhaps an appropriate time, or wildly inappropriate time depending on who you are). This book is truly shocking in a way that something can only be when it is grounded in reality. Preston has been accused of dramatizing events and symptoms of the diseases in question (namely the Ebola and Marburg viruses), but I think it is done to illicit feelings in the reader that are appropriate given the subject matter; namely anxiety, fear, and disgust.

The book is startling and captivating, while also being educational on some level. As a person generally interested in biology, I found this book hard to put down.

This was a real-life thriller!

As someone who likes science, I really enjoyed reading about the virus and all of the safety precautions they had to take just to handle it. The book tells the story of the people who came into contact with it and what their experience was. Some were people visiting a cave in Africa, tourists, doctors, nurses, researchers, and many other people.

It was so wild to me how this virus could just wreck someone entire body and leave them just a bloody mess.

The author does s great job of simplifying complicated communicable disease science into a great story told about viruses.
