Loved it

Absolutely loved this book and the characters. There is so much plot and twists and turns. That you spend the whole book on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. I'm definitely going to get and read the next book straight away.

Quick, fun, easy to read young adult fantasy book. Harley works in a casino and knows she is an empath, she can basically feel whatever everyone else is feeling, but it turns out Harley is more powerful than that.

Really enjoyable, fast-paced. Loved it

Not a lot really happened in the book. The ending left me feeling deflated there were a lot of unanswered questions.

I’m 2/3rd of the way done but felt the need to write this review to warn others about this book. It was advertised to me through FB as “if you like Harry Potter, you’ll love this one!” But the poor writing and unbelievable plot make the book almost unbearable. The author paints the main character as a foster kid and every 5 pages feels the need to remind the reader of this circumstance. I am 100% confident this author knows nothing about children who are in the foster care system OR anything about people of color. The Hispanic character in her introduction to the reader has the same name as the town she’s from in Mexico and uses two spanish words as if to prove she’s really a Hispanic person. Then for the rest of the book (as far as I read)she uses no other spanish. The main character loves to antagonize other people and comes off as unlikable and annoying to me. This gives me “American Dirt” vibes...white author tried to write from an underprivileged point of view and failed miserably. I feel like she read two Wikipedia articles: one on the foster care system and one on “magic” in other cultures and tried to put it in her book. I could go on but hopefully that’s enough to convince you that it’s not worth the time to start this book. Go back and reread HP1 and it will be a much better use of your time.

Brilliant

Brilliant book. Bella Forrest is a brilliant author. The characters are amazing especially the main character Harley, she is an amazing character who you fall in love with

I went in completely blind just knowing it was Urban Fantasy that was it.

Now I don’t do well with magic or witches and this well it has both… But… I loved it. I liked Harley from the get go. I liked that she doesn’t know exactly what she is but that she knows she is different and she learned to use it to her advantage.

She meets Wade and through him she finds her place in this world that didn’t make much sense before its starting to. She is learning there is more to her talents than meets the eye and with training she may become better. She is learning about her family, not all of it good but it was more than she had before.

The book has a lot of world building but I didn’t mind it so much because it was easy to follow along. I think the next books are going to give us more insight into this coven and just how they all work.

I really enjoyed Amanda’s narration. I think if it had been any other narrator I don’t think I would have been sucked in the way I was.

A fun fantasy read. The writing felt a bit young at times for some reason and Harley annoyed me quite a bit. Hoping to see her character develop as the series go on but an interesting magical system and some characters with great potential.

All I have to say is outstanding!! I was longing for an interesting fantasy series to dive into and this definitely has fulfilled that desire!

A fun read. Don't expect more and you will love it.
