These books are cray. Can't wait for 13 and 14 so I can finally figure out this shit.

3.49
a lot of the filler bored me, but the last hundred or so pages were very entertaining, particularly the final chapter (

The cover:

Just like the previous books in the series, this cover features a liar (in this case that’s Aria) along with the title of the book in a unique font. I’m just starting to wonder if all the books which have Aria on the cover have something in common…

The storyline:

I started this book back in March, and stopped at 40% because of my dear finals, so I read 60% this afternoon, and I loved it! I’m so glad I left it for now, this book has a summer and vacation feeling to it.

The summary:

The girls are finally on vacation and going on a cruise. They’re trying to get passed what they did back in Jamaica and all the A-drama, but good luck with that with A right on board.

Aria is enjoying the vacation with Noel, becomes a friend with someone who she may need to stay away from.

Emily is still burdened by the secret she hasn’t told her friends about yet and her family is not talking to her and they don’t even look her in the eye. A new and unwelcomed guest on the cruise takes her thoughts and heart. She’s so happy and can’t believe she’s lucky to be happy after all what they’ve done. But maybe she’s right, it’s too good to be true.

After getting over all this boy drama we’ve been through in the previous book, Hanna is finally relaxing with Mike and hoping to get her tanning right this time. She also makes a new awkward friend, whom she thinks can’t be trusted, probably because they know about an accident she was involved in sometime ago.

Will A be able to get them after all?! That’s what we all want to know!

What I loved:

- Okay, so this book is full of suspense and thriller. I’ve been holding my breath every time I sense something is going wrong. I just couldn’t help but suspect everyone on the cruise. Everyone was acting weird and off balance.

- The story is well built and way better than the previous book. It’s so intense and you expect A to jump at the liars every 5sec!

- The writing as usual is just smooth and really good.

- For some reason, the liars have matured a lot and they’re better at dealing with stuff, especially Aria, I liked her a lot in this book.

- Oh God the last few chapters! They were so tense. I had all types of emotions trying to finish them. They were great.

What I disliked:

- Mainly one thing: why does the author keep making the liars so stupid? It’s way obvious from the beginning that A is setting them up just like the previous book. It was so tiring reading many chapters just wishing they could have avoided all this trouble just if “they’d learned anything” from what happened before.

The characters:

I can’t talk about most of the characters because I’ll spoil the story.

Aria is my favorite in this book. She’s so mature, calm, friendly and just the best in the group.

Emily is the emotional one, she’s always comforting and taking care of others ignoring her own problems.

Spencer is over thinking stuff which only helps A in his/her plan. But she’s way better than before, she’s mostly scared A will sabotage her new relationship to get to her.

Hanna is enjoying the cruise and throughout the story she stays out of trouble and tries to enjoy a vacation without A coming across her mind every second.

Favorite quotes:

Ever told a lie to save yourself? Maybe you blamed the dent in your parents’ Mercedes on your brother so you could still go to the spring formal. Maybe you told your Algebra teacher you weren’t part o… --- Hit and Run.

Emily: I’m okay. Not going to where we planned, but somewhere even better. We’ll find each other someday—that’s a promise. --- Chapter 33: Emily Gets Her Wishes.

Conclusion:

This is, yet again, one of my favorite reads this year. I’m so excited to be coming closer to the end of this series and yet I’m so sad it’s going to end (in next December! *_*).

Okay, so this book is the 12th Pretty Little Liars in the series. It is about the girls and they go on a cruise ship thinking they can escape A. They were far from being right. First off, they thought it was all Naomi's fault. Everything made perfect sense. Then it all crumbled. Hanna admitted to driving Madison off the road to Naomi when she thought Naomi would use it against her. Naomi was surprised to hear this. Then, there's Aria who pushed Tabitha off the roof of a building. It looks as if it wasn't Aria's fault at all, but merely A. A had hit her with a bat to the head until she died. Spencer broke up with Reefer because of Naomi, but got back together with him in the end. Hanna was becoming amazing friends with Naomi to have it all turn on her when A tricked her into thinking Naomi was A. Then there's Emily. I'm so sure that 'Jordan' could last that jump off the boat, but apparently she did. I'd also like to point out that I really dislike Emily. She is incredibly naive and it is her fault that A is still alive. Yes, A was supposed to die. And yes, A is Ali all because Emily had to leave the Poconos door open for her. Great. Just great. Can't wait for the next four books I guess. Hopefully it doesn't drag on. I recommend this book to anyone who likes the Pretty Little Liars series and I encourage you to finish the series!

If they could stop seeing disappearing magical flashes and hearing giggles, that'd be great. There is no way A would escape from their view that quickly every damn time! I was going to re-read the series to refresh my memory but I read the first one, remembered how annoying that was, and skipped straight to re-reading #s 10/11/12. However, this book was better than some and actually got us somewhere, which is nice.

i feel like so much of the stuff i made note of to talk about in this particular book was just things i found embarrassing sdkjfsk

OKAY some absolutely ridiculous quotes let's go:

"they pranced around the king james mall wearing their plaid jumpers and naughty-girl kneesocks like they were sooo sexy" naughty girl kneesocks???? also i know it's just so ingrained at this point, but god when will schoolgirls stop being sexualized this way THEY'RE CHILDREN

"emily found it almost impossible to take her eyes off jordan's high cheekbones, her kissable lips--in a platonic way, of course" okay, i would get the denial if emily hadn't come to terms with her sexuality but she HAS so there's really no need to insist there's anything platonic about thinking a girl has kissable lips

"is it because i have a pink stripe in my hair? she would wonder" OKAY i know that doesn't fall in line with rosewood standards but oh my gooood the entire population of the school isn't gonna leave a girl out bc she has pink hair. and i hate the whole Aria Is So Different narrative through the whole books like that may be true but you can't tell me she's the only person at rosewood day who deviates from the typical aesthetic and whatever

moving on: you can't tell me aria would've gotten a locket that noel said he found the beach without IMMEDIATELY opening it to see what was inside. like i guess shepard wanted the reveal to happen later but it literally could've happened right when he gave it to her.

also, like, i can't blame emily, because girls are awesome, but re: jordan she's like "she's the most amazing girl i've ever met" emily you think that about literally every girl who shows any interest in you and you've known this girl for a few days

i GET them hearing the giggle all the time when A is actually around and out of sight but they were in the middle of the ocean!!!

what comes next: "for emily, all roads lead back to ali. and nothing's harder to extinguish than an old flame..." she LITERALLY decided to let go of ali in the last book bc she realized Real Ali was crazy sdkjfskj Real Ali is not the one she fell for, it makes zero sense i'm so tired
