This is my 5th VE Schwab book and once again it’s 5 stars! I loved being back in this world and I need the next book immediately!

ׂ╰┈➤ I so wish I loved this series but for one reason or another I just don't. We just don't click. But I am finally checking out of this series, 4 books is enough for me.

this was talked about as if part of a new series in the same world, however, that was not the case. even tho ADSOM was originally a trilogy, i think this would’ve been more accurate as a simple continuation of the series. i don’t think i would’ve been as disappointed when i realized so much of the book was going to be taken up by lila/kell/alucard/rhy.
i know schwab lovessss long books, but honestly this didn’t need it. i enjoyed the white london chapters, but their placement sometimes made me groan. it would’ve served better as a prequel to this book, or even a 1.5 short story situation.
i’ll still read the next one tho lol i love this world and lila is a g

Quel plaisir de replonger dans cet univers ! L'histoire est un poil longuette sur certains passages mais waw comment j'étais heureuse de retrouver tout le monde

Obsessed with how well she crafts a plot.
I really enjoyed this overall! I was very lost at the start because I accidentally read this before the original trilogy (will have to read as a prequel) so have to blame myself for the lack of world building. There was originally too many POVs for me to keep up with as well - but I got used to it eventually when it all came together.
It has a LOT of potential.
I'm really intrigued to see the reasoning behind the formation of The Hand though and how it'll develop. And how the Queen comes into the distrust? I also have a feeling that White London's ghost is not really who we think??

If you like the characters, you'll like this book -- because not a lot of plot happens, as the entire book seems designed to catch readers back up to speed on the world and characters, both old and new. Tess is a delight, and I can't wait to read more of her story in the sequels.
