• Schwab is a really good writer.
• this book poses as a 300-pager while actually being a 600-pager. thin pages. don’t trust it.
• I didn’t love having a second series in the same world - it was too intertwined with the first series and I didn’t entirely remember what happened which made some parts confusing. but overall you could get by without remembering the whole plot of the first series.
• she made Lila Bard very unlikable?? idk how I feel about this.
• the expansion on the magic system was sick.
• the book did a great job of tying up the small plot while leaving question marks around the bigger plot. it was a satisfying ending.

I really enjoyed this book for the vibes, for the feel of coming home after a long day. I love the book but honestly the plot was a little disorganized (?) and definitely slower paced than shades of magic.
