i enjoyed this! it’s a perfect introductory text for greek dramas, and full of beautifully written passages on gender, brain vs braun, and familial love in ancient greece. is fast paced and short, so definitely worth an entertaining re-read :)

Hard to believe this book is so old

Sophocles writing revolves around war n this one is again about the warrior named Ajax during a Trojan war.
When great warrior Achilles died his armour was supposed to be passed on to ajax being the next great warrior in line but Agamemnon n his brother gave it to Odysseus. Enraged ajax planned to kill both the Kings but Athena deluded him and he instead killed the cows and spoils of the army. When he came to senses he couldn't bear the pain and killed himself.
After his death kings want to keep the body as it is but Ajax's bother wants a proper burial. Odysseus intervenes and convinces kings that even deserves proper burial.
