Each chapter is told from the perspective of a new character, and while usually that's a neat narrative tool, in Confessions each chapter just ends up rehashing the same information we've learned in Chapter 1. You can only re-read the same information so many times before it feels incredibly tedious.

This is a hard book to rate. The way the story is told is so intriguing, but hard to track at times. Every chapter took me a bit to get used to the new voice and even figure out who it is. Also, the characters? Horrible and difficult to like. I also didn't buy that some of the perspectives were middle schoolers. They read as adults. Still, a good read when you're fine with disliking everyone.
