4.5/5 stars ⭐️ . Unsteady by Peyton Corinne swept me off my feet and took me by surprise. I usually shy away from Sports romance (the only other sports romance I’ve read is about a made up sport, All for the Game if you know you know), but oh my god this was amazing! Unsteady follows figure skater Sadie and hockey player Rhys as they enter a unique fwb situation while both grappling with mental health issues and their real feelings for each other. I loved Unsteady because it highlighted mental health in both men and women, and Peyton Corinne didn’t romanticize mental health issues in a toxic way some other romance authors have. The mental health issues are a real and messy depiction of what PTSD and anxiety actually look like. I also really loved that neither character used the other as a crutch for their mental health or that a love interest wasn’t their sole motivator for getting better which is a toxic thing I see a lot in other romance novels that depict mental health issues. I really loved all the characters in this book and hope that Peyton Corinne returns to Waterfell so I can read about the other character (I would die for a Bennet book.) TW: PTSD, alcoholism, parental abuse, abuse from a coach, and parental abandonment

5 ++++ 🌟

I have no words. This was the most beautiful story. I ached for Sadie, Oliver, and Liam. Rhys standing by them and helping Sadie learn she can ask for help and learn to trust 😭😭. And do not get me started on Rhys’ parents. I would love a book for them and their story. In fact, if we don’t get a book for every side character in this book, I will riot.

I cannot wait to read more from this author and this universe. I cannot believe this is a debut novel. Incredible

If you like emotional stories with fantastic mental health rep, look no further. This very much gave me Binding/Keeping 13 vibes, and there is no higher compliment than that

This had a lot of similarities to binding 13 but with older characters and spice. All of that made it really good. However, I think the plot could’ve been more fleshed out. Especially pertaining to the initial relationship buildup and some specific scenes, I feel like I needed more to fully believe it.
