“when i take aim at something, i do not miss”

i just enjoy kate quinn’s books so much and this one was just amazing! i gotta admit that i was a bit nervous going into this book seeing as the protagonist was a real person which differs from her other WWII novels.

however, she was still able to write a fascinating story with complex characters. also this is just me, but i absolutely love how she sprinkles characters from her other novels. nina markova and yelena vetsina you’ll always be loved.

A fantastic read! I couldn’t put this one down. This is my second read of Kate Quinn’s so I had high expectations, but it was even better! I was a little afraid at the beginning that it would be too tense and dark for me and it was tense, dark, sad, but also action packed with hope and love sprinkled in. I also loved how true to the Lyudmila’s memoir it was and it was cool to see the pictures at the end. This has definitely become a favorite!
