Wow, wow, wow...this is such a good book. If you like historical fiction based on true stories of bada$$ WWII heroines, this book is definitely it. I have never heard of this female sniper and she wowed my socks off. Plus, most of the books about WWII are from the POV of American or Holocaust survivors. This is a welcome change in that it's from a Soviet POV. It gives a very different view of the war. It's splendidly written and so fun as well as emotional and dark. Great read!

Unsure about Ukrainians identifying as Russians, but I enjoyed this book. Quinn does a great job of weaving a story and events of WWII
