I enjoyed this book significantly more than the first book. Given how it ended, I knew I needed to continue on with the series. The back and forth between the past and present was a little confusing. But I found myself preferring the chapters based out of the past. The world building/background was more flushed out in this book than the previous one. Normally my reviews are long, but I just finished this book five minutes ago and I feel so torn. I go back and forth between who I want the love interest to be, but the ending was… wow

Ahh how could someone do this?!? Throughout the whole book you learn to love Oro and slowly see how the relationship developed with Grim. And then wham the ending just throws everything in your face and I’m so glad I waited to read this, since the next book is out in two days. I need answers now.

Just like the first book, the world building is so fun and engaging, the characters development is forming and the writing itself is easy going and entertaining.
While this isn’t the best romantecy out there this is series is definitely becoming a cozy favourite.
I will add.. too much spice for me. There were 3-4 spice scenes and almost every time they went on for too long and were cringe to read.

This book started slow, and almost wasn’t grabbing me. Until I got to the last 150 pages and couldn’t put the damn thing down. Usually when there is a love triangle trope I am all for just one side. This series I have been waffling between both sides. One side is so tender and careful and patient, where as the other is really intense and passionate and overwhelming. HOW DO I DECIDE?
