This was so perfect. I wish Lauren had included this in the first book so that we could've grown closer to A before she died. The impact of her death really hit more after reading this book. Their love was so pure and just like a fairytale. I honestly fell in love with their love and A is such a sweet girl.

Holy moly dit boek was zo goed!!! Ik vond het eigenlijk pakkender dan Powerless, misschien omdat ik al wist hoe tragisch het zou eindigen. Maar dan alsnog ging ik echt op in de romance tussen Adena en Mak want ik ben echt een sucker voor de grumpy/sunshine-trope en dit boek heeft dat echt geweldig uitgewerkt. Ik herkende mezelf best wel in Adena en hoop dat ik ooit mijn Mak zal vinden <3.

Powerful adds necessary depth to Adena’s character, who would otherwise feel flat in the main trilogy. On its own, though, the novella felt too predictable and lacked the strength to stand alone as a compelling story. The writing wasn’t the best, but thankfully the main series delivers more.

Cruel. This was cruel.

I appreciate this perspective so much. I loved getting to know Adena more, and her love for Mak was beautiful. They needed each other. They found peace in each other's presence.

This hurt, and I knew exactly what was going to happen...
I wasn't prepared for the realization that Mak felt her... Felt.
I literally couldn't imagine.

"For the girl who shines so bright that the sun pales in comparison."

Neither of them deserved that ending. I'm actually so sad about it!
Lauren Roberts... CRUEL. They deserved a happy ending!
