If you expect to read all the juicy details of Pam’s life as a playboy bunny, you will be highly disappointed and I suggest you don’t read. We don’t have the right to know the juicy details of the spice of her life. Now, if you want to know the person that Pam is and learn how her young adult life has taught her how to live today, then look no further. Pamela Anderson isn’t what you expect.

I haven’t watched the Netflix documentary yet, but this was a quick listen on audiobook (less than 6 hrs).
I’ve never really followed Pamela too much, but I grew up in the 90s when her fame was rising.
This memoir reveals so many layers to her I never knew before. From a traumatic childhood and teen years, abuse, and more. To her love of poetry and activism work.
I only wish it was fleshed out even more, going a bit more in depth with some of her later years and relationships. I feel like the last decade or two of her life was glossed over and more could’ve been explored there.

I'd have given 4, but she ruined it by claiming that it's possible for dogs to be vegan. I don't care if your dog can survive on a vegan diet. They are healthier, happier and more energetic on a balanced nutritional diet that is natural for them.

Let's admit it, we're all known for judging a book by its cover, assuming how someone is with no info. And I am no different. I grew up in the 90s and Pamela Anderson was known for all the wrong reasons - she was a blond ditz, slow motion runs and couldn't be taken seriously as an actress (hello Baywatch!), and her choice in men suuuucked. But even with those assumptions, I picked up Love, Pamela with an open mind and I'm glad I did. I was wrong and willing to admit it  - she's intelligent, well spoken, talented, and kick-ass....her choice in men still sucks though. This was, honestly, a very lovely memoir and my opinion changed drastically on Anderson. At only 249 pages, her story is raw, truthful, and emotional. I really wish it had been longer. I will point out that there are mentions of sexual and physical abuse so there's your warning before jumping into this book. Well worth the read and definitely one of my favorite books for 2024.
