It was a fun book but the twist at the end left a lot to be desired. However, it would be very difficult not to me tion the kind of internalised misogyny going on in the book wh ther with writing style of the author or the characters themselves

I won this through Goodreads First Reads a long time ago. I flipped through it back then and found it unappealing. I finally picked it up yesterday in an effort to clear out some shelf space. Now that I’ve read it, it is still as unappealing as it was then. It reads like a bad horror script. It doesn’t read like a novel at all, and the author seems to lack the prose to truly make a thrilling novel.

In the beginning, the book was hard to read because many instances were sickening to me, but as the plot developed the sickening scenes became sparser. The ending was surprising, I was completely taken unawares. It was a really interesting tale of revenge.

This is definitely a horror novel. It does get fairly graphic at times. The author, although a woman herself does a shit portrayal of women in her story, describing one as not worthy of description due to abuse and another as a harpooned orca. It was, however action packed and although a little contrived I got through it quickly enough without much effort to keep going on my part.

This was terrible. It could have been a decent novel but it was so terribly written and edited. Has screenplay tendencies to the bad editing job.

I can't believe I wasted money on this. What a disappointment! Don't be fooled. This is not a horror story. Just a terrible waste of time.
