This was so cute! The story had me smiling with it's sweet high school love story. The main character's journey was beautiful, I loved her growth. And getting to know drama boy and seeing his issues, they really felt like full characters

Love Faith Erin Hicks!
This is a graphic novel about a ~hockey girl~ who struggles to manage her anger in response to a bully. She seeks out the expertise of a ~drama boy~ after she seems him easily handle a homophobic attack from the school jock. Their "lessons" become friendship and eventually romance.
I'll admit, the cover made me take a double take. Seemingly butch girl dates seemingly femme boy? But I enjoyed how the novel took assumptions about gender, labels, and sexuality and subtly challenged them. The art was so engaging and expressive. The resolution of the conflict between Alix and the team captain seemed rushed and a little unsatisfying honestly. But the romance is really what made this book!
