This volume beautifully demonstrates young love at its sweetest. I loved seeing the characters take the time to learn about each other's interests and show support for each other. This is what a healthy, loving relationship should look like. I was also impressed by the maturity of the young couple and their friends. This graphic novel managed to tackle themes related to identity, bullying, and love in a humorous way. I highly recommend this to all teens out there and anyone searching for a graphic novel that will have you grinning ear to ear the whole way through.

This was such a cute graphic novel about a girl in hockey, Alix, who punches the team captain after losing her temper as a result of the bullying she faced. Alix needs to learn how to control this, and seeks advice from Ezra who is a very calm theatre kid in her grade. The two hang out and bond, learning more about each other and themselves as the friendships blooms into something more.
I didn’t realize this book was queer when I picked it up but I was pleasantly surprised. I also loved the theme of identity and labels being explored. I love the family, friendship and relationship dynamics it explores. It expressed so much in the short amount of time it had to give a message. I teared up from relating to Alix and what she was going through. The art was cute, and I love the character dynamics and their growth in the story. I also didn’t realize it was Canadian until I started reading but that was a fun bonus!

Pretty good comic and story! Also helps that I love Hockey.
I picked this up on a whim and I’m honestly so glad that I did.
This was just such a cute wholesome graphic novel full of such cute romance and I honestly had the best time.
