a perfect cautionary tale about expectations and perception of your own otherness. can we really reset the clock to undue what we've brought upon ourselves (and unknowingly, and selfishly on our loved ones)?

I thought the Characters werde rather undeveloped and shallow. The whole problem of the Race issues in the 60ies and 70ies of America just stays right on the surface as does so whole Book. It was written ok but nothing outstanding. I excpected a way better Book After all the praise it was given.

It's funny how we never notice how important people in our lives are until we lose them. I enjoyed reading about this family and how they managed to come forward in their "new" life.
