American War

3.81 AVERAGE

I didn't read anything about this book, so I was surprised to find out that the American War was the second civil war, set in the 2050s and on. This book was included in the 2018 Canada Reads Long List, fitting the theme "one book to open your eyes." I think this book gave a good insight into what a rebel might feel, when trying to defend their home, and how war can affect children.

I kind of liked the book??? Like I think 3.5 stars but leaning towards 4. It made me think a lot but the beginning was soooo slow and the news stuff was pretty dull

So bleak, but so utterly believable. Highly recommended, but only if you have the stomach for it.
