I wish there were half stars on GR, this is a 2.5 for me.

It was just pretentious. That's pretty much it. The artwork was nice which is why this is a 2.5 instead of a 2. If you're not into pretentious graphic novels about art then skip this one.

Thought provoking and unnerving, higher-brow Snotgirl! For my comic creators, find this one for a change of pace.

Everyone is Tulip.
Everyone is Tulip.
Everyone is Tulip.

This book was so creative in so many ways. I was so fascinated how technology and social media was used to communicate elements of the story. Because of how often smart phones were used in the compositions it made the characters feel even more real

The characters were great. They all had their own clearly defined ambitions, loves, and flaws

The use of repition was also amazing. I never felt like the repition was overused or unnecessary.

This was such a fun and stylish read. The color pallette was beautiful and bright

The narrative could have been a little deeper with a bit more clarity, but I was entertained enough

Loved this

It has potential to be a story with more depth and nuance. The ending feels too abrupt and unresolved. The artstyle is good tho.

It’s a little boring, a little pretentious, very little nuance, mostly held together by the artwork, and all in all very very White.

Adult Contemporary Graphic Novel

Features a young actress that finds stardom through a series of 'strange' artistic video clips she is hired for.

Heavy social media & fashion elements

Cautionary tale vibe

Artistic plot, characters, and aesthetic.

The illustrations are pretty. It brings up questions about art and fame, and it was hard to read about people who have the worst brought out in them.

The first pass didn't click. The artwork was beautiful, the main character complex, but was not sure I got it, you know? The second pass - I got it. What is fame? What does your life mean if measured in likes and thumbs up? How do others interact with you when the likes stop coming so frequently?

Incredibly poignant in the golden age of the social media influencer.
