This set of comedic essays lives up to its genre; It's not often that a book makes me audibly chuckle, but this one did. I deeply appreciated that Samatha Irby let readers glimpse moments in her life with a vulnerability that I would never be able to muster up. I saw myself reflected in some moments of her life and felt that I had a new understanding of those that I've never faced myself.

Really not my style of humour. Some bits made me smirk, but it was highly slapstick-heavy. Listened to the audio narrated by Irby herself, and I found her voice a little grating as well. Giving up as I find it's become fairly droning and repetitive.

I think this was Urby's best book yet. It had many laugh out loud moments but also the brutal honesty that makes me love her writing. I particularly related to Body Negativity and A Guide to Simple Home Repairs. I found Hello, 911?, We Almost Got a Fucking Dog, and Hung Up! to be extra funny. I appreciate someone putting in print that they have no goals because it makes me feel better about my love of television and lack of deep career aspirations.
