Jessica tells her story through her POV and that of her new service dog, who is determined to do well in his new role. It seemed like an accessible mode of storytelling for kids. I also thought it was interesting that Jessica left her injury cause out of the narrative, opening up more connections for kids with disabilities from a variety of causes.
