- Dancing With the Stars reality tv show
- she's a dancer on the show aiming to make it to the finals
- he's a backwoods Alaska man from his own reality tv show
I really enjoyed the character growth of both MCs. Wished they had dual narration for this audio.

I absolutely loved this book! There was so much chemistry between the characters and the conflicts were genuine and well fleshed-out. I didn't feel any "rolling my eyes" moments that sometimes happens in romcoms because the characters were well-rounded and nothing that happened was outlandish. Gina and Stone sizzled from the first meeting and I loved his stoic and serious demeanor in juxtaposition to her fiery and charismatic one. As someone who met her SO through salsa dancing, I definitely appreciated the portrayal of how close dancing brings two people and how much trust is required to develop a partnership.

This is a solid romance from Alexis Daria, perfect for fans of Dancing with the Stars. Gina and Stone have chemistry from the start that both try to avoid but that can only be denied for so long with forced proximity as dance partners on a reality show. I enjoyed the fun behind the scenes aspects of the show. As a dancer myself I appreciated that the difficulty and skills required were highlighted in this story. This book did leave me wanting more of an emotional connection to be shown on the pages not just the characters sexual chemistry. I would recommend this book for a light fun read!

Thanks to Avon Books for the free advance copy of this book.
- TAKE THE LEAD is a reissue of Alexis Daria's first book. You can see where her writing has improved over the years, as well as what she's always been great at: chemistry that sparks right off the page.
- To be honest, romance novels where the man is so huge and the woman is so tiny have never really been for me, and this book kept hammering their sizes home. Your mileage may vary, of course.
- I did love the dance competition show setting though. All those rehearsals of intimate dances made for excellent tension building!
