Love, Rosie was a pretty good book. Quick to read, and I'm excited to see how the movie turns out.

Super frustrating but also very beautiful. Enjoyed it a lot, took me a while to get used to the letter format but it works very well! A nice easy read to get me though the end of my degree

This book started out really cute and funny. The story is told through emails, notes, letters, and IM's between the characters. The story seemed to drag on way too long though and the concept wore a bit thin.

I was chatting with Eu about the books that we read when we were younger and I just remembered this one. I really loved it! I can still picture that day in Red House when Ugo was talking about it, and the luck I felt when Oyinkan or someone happened to have a copy, and I got to read it. It was s different from a lot of the books I was reading in that time. I liked the epistolary nature of it with the texts and emails, and the love story was delicious for pre-teen Ayo in a boarding school in the middle of nowhere. I don't think the movie adaptation Love, Rosie could've ever lived up to that excitement. For a movie based on a boo, the movie was pretty good. I also remember reading Karen Kingsbury, Francine Rivers, and the books that shall not be named that Ennie got from Mrs Oladejo lol during that time.

Fue una historia que me gustó muchísimo. Me encanta cuando nos presentan a los mismos personajes en distintos momentos de su vida, y este libro no fue menos. Pasamos de ver a los Alex y Rosie que se pelean porque no se invitan a los respectivos cumpleaños a verlos casándose, teniendo hijos, trabajando. Y, cómo no, teniendo muchos (muchos) problemas.
Creo que esa fue la razón por la que le bajé la estrella (aunque aún así el 4 es una nota que se le queda corta), porque pasaban muchas cosas malas. Era como si la autora estuviese ideando a cada página mil planes más para que los personajes tengan vidas miserables. Además, hubo un par de temas que no me gustaron cómo fueron tratados, y hubiera preferido que no estén del todo.
En cuanto a los personajes tengo un conflicto. Sé que no me voy a olvidar de Alex y Rosie en un largo tiempo, pero mi problema son los secundarios. Iba a agregar a Katie a la lista de arriba hasta que tuve que pensar un par de segundos en cómo se llamaba porque no me acordaba. No es porque sean aburridos o repetitivos, sino porque las interacciones que tienen con Rosie no son tan fuertes como la de Alex (que por un lado está bien, pero por el otro es casi un punto en contra). Todavía no sé si Ruby me gusta o no, porque me pareció super vulgar y a veces se metía donde no debía. Creo que haberla hecho un poco más como Rosie hubiese sido un punto a favor. En cuanto a Kevin, Steph y toda la prole, siento que podrían haber tenido un poco más de protagonismo. Casi parecía que no eran hermanos de Rosie.
Aún así, mientras lo leía (más que nada cuando lo empecé a leer) sentí que de verdad podría haber sido un libro escrito por mí. Encontraba frases que yo uso, expresiones de ciertos personajes que hubieran coincidido con mis ideas de haber hecho una historia parecida. Y el feeling de nostalgia cuando ya Rosie entra en su adultez, aún acordándose de todo lo que pasó con Alex, también sería algo muy mío. Es el primer libro con el que me pasa y estoy muy contenta de que, de haber tenido que experimentar esto, haya sido con este libro. Me gustó muchísimo, me encantan los libros que una vez que llegás al final como que te llevan a pensar en el principio, donde todo era super fácil aunque en el momento no lo parecía. No sé, puede incluso que me anime a releerlo en un futuro.

As far as I read some of reviews all of them seem to whine about this book being slow. I can agree to that, but in the end I am glad that it was. It made it more believable, because frankly, I do to feel stuck and I also have a good friend like Alex, but I don't think we are made for each other now, later, maybe.
And as in the book there were so many distractions and complex things they had to overcome, just as it is in the now, in reality, nothing ever is easy. SO enjoy reading it and feel the slow pace as your own time.
