I really liked the poetic qualities to this book. The text was presented as a poem but didn't have the rhyming aspect. I also enjoyed the information section on each page that explained more about tree frogs. While I think the book was too long for a story time, a child that was really interested in frogs would enjoy this a lot.

Loved this! A book of poems written from a little girl to the tree frog in her backyard, telling the story of her interactions with him over the course of the seasons in a year. Each two page spread features a poem on the left-hand side with a complementary fact about gray tree frogs on the right hand side. The facts are in a smaller type and don’t distract or detract from the poetry, which is definitely the main attraction here.

A poetry book about a little girl who moves to a new place and finds solace with the treefrog in her yard. Beautiful poetry, swirling, colorful illustrations featuring diverse characters, and facts about treefrogs all throughout. This book is for the quiet ones.

Lovely artwork set in a garden.  This is a poem about treefrogs.  What I enjoy about it is the two page spread of artwork for each verse, on the left is the poem and on the bottom right in smaller font is a few facts about what the poem just described, all about treefrogs.

I enjoyed the little girl in this.  Then she made a friend and he was also respectful to the treefrogs habitat.  That was a nice touch.  We see other kids come over and they are loud and not respectful.

I think my Niece would love this story.  She goes crazy for frogs.  She always looks for them and picks them up.  Every year she begs her dad to let her raise tad poles.  Seriously, she loves frogs.  It's crazy cool.  This girl sort of reminds me of her.

This poetry book follows a young girl and a tree frog she found. I loved the art style in this book and how the book followed the girl's life and the frog's life cycle at the same time. I also liked that this book provided labels on the pictures and gave frog facts on each page, relating them to the poem and illustration on the page.

The artwork is adorable. I loved how prominent the color green is. I also thought the poems plus the information was well done.

A GREAT blend of poetry with facts about treefrogs. This would be a great book to introduce poetry in a classroom while teaching facts about treefrogs.
