March 2021: This book did not live up to the hype I gave it ten years ago lol. These characters are so inconsistent and their actions make no sense to me. Also I do not vibe with any of the love interests.. Simon is a pickme boy and I don’t get the Jace appeal. BUT I’m committed to rereading this whole series!!

I am so refreshed to read a book like this!! Its not so predictable and cliche such as other young adult novels(twilight...) but it still has a hint of that vampire/werewolf/ and my new favorite.=shadowhunters. City of Bones has a good balance of romance and action, and even though its completely fiction i can relate to it and it keeps me on my toes. Read this book cover to cover and loved it.
It was a decent story for a YA I have purchased some more in the series so I suppose I am invested. I did enjoy the premise and look forward to how the author is going to bring it all together
i immediately revert back to my 14 year old self every time magnus bane and alec interact. i am giggling MANIACALLY
i actually really liked the world building and the plot overall but the ending of this book completely ruined it for me.
