4,5 stars because Rowan really stressed me out like two times. I liked Zahra and didn’t find her annoying like I have other Lauren Asher heroines😬. I loved all the Pride and Prejudice Easter eggs including one hand scene which I’m sure was DEFINITELY mimic Matthew Macfadyen’s hand scene. OH AND MATTHEW MACFADYEN WAS MENTIONED BY NAME!!! HOW COOL FOR HIM!!

There was a nice diversity overall in this book from a main character who’s Hispanic and Armenian to her sister who happened to have Down syndrome and to Rowan (the hero)’s brother Cal who had ADHD! Very cool!

Also I freaking loved the fact that the brothers were named after King Arthur’s knights, I’m so jealous.

four stars ★! I love every. single. book Lauren Asher has written. Basically this is about Rowan the grumpy and broody boss/director of Dreamland. And Zahra is the ray of sunshine that dreams to be one of the Creators of Dreamland. I'm a soft for every grumpy and sunshine tropes and this has it!

My conerns are this book is too long, a lot of unnessesary narratives, I'm fine with romance with many chapters IF it's a slowburn, but this is not it. But Lauren has way in words that you wouldn't get bored. I repetitively said this on her other books but look, I'm still reading her works.

Second, Rowan is inconsistent. He's inconsistent with his relationship with Zahrah. On-off relationship? If I'm Zahra I'll dumped him, he's not focused and "self-assured". His backstory also, I did not grew attached or felt empathy about it because:
1.) It's not clearly written, it's messed up. 2.) Readers only get the bits of his story, we shouldn't be guessing what's heppening unless it's a mystery/thriller novel, but it's not.

Third, I don't know but sometimes Zahra is an idiot. She's fooling herself, Rowan is inconsistent about her but she's consistent of saying to herself "I wouldn't trust you again" blah blah blah. But then there she goes again, swooning over Rowan. Girl, I can't—.

Though I love how optimitic and creative she is. Though her backstory? I don't think it's nessesary, maybe they just put those for the sake of "spice". Like ✧.* let me add some devastating background history for this girl because she's interely two dimensional and bland. ✧.*

There. I said it. But I'm excited for book 2! Overall I still enjoyed this story, I recommend reading this if you like workplace romance and grumpy and sunshine trope.
