Bateson compiled this book from several essays he had previously written and then edited for continuity - and you can tell, as it was done really poorly. Very accessible text for those who don’t have any prior knowledge in the field such as myself, but almost TOO accessible and felt a bit dumbed down… two and a half stars because despite this i did find the subject matter interesting more often than not
