I don't think the thesis or main points were anything new and groundbreaking if you know about how language can be used to undermine people but I really think the examples are so interesting. Appreciate the intersectionality in the second half.

Solid book overall, but it would’ve been stronger if Herman had consistently talked about misogynoir throughout the book in addition to giving it its own chapter.

I was also not thrilled with the cissexist language and wish the author would’ve discussed transmisogyny, as it would’ve further strengthened her argument. Still, I learned a lot about misrepresented women leaders and am eager to learn more about them thanks to this book.

I did not enjoy this book. Author wrote very scripted and predictable. She had a political agenda and talked about a handful of women throughout.
