Absolutely jarring. Not what I was expecting at all but I fell so attached the moment I read the first page. Beautiful and scary and confusing.

This short story collection is an incredible interrogation of what it's like to be a queer femme person in modern society. I can't say that I enjoyed reading this book, but I will definitely read it over and over again.

for me, "especially heinous" was by far the best story and honestly one of the most engrossing reading experiences I've had this year. "the husband stitch" was a very close second and perfect retelling of my favorite childhood scary story. the rest of the stories were all really fantastic, but none of rest of them lived up to these two. that being said, this is still 100% a 5 star read for me.
