I should have like this book, it's a fae romance novel with a fates mates vibe, but it wasn't for me. The MC had no personality if her own and I do not love mystical resolution to disability. The "hero" is a murderer and unkind and at 60% there was no reckoning with that. The gamer stuff was forced and poorly written and the world wasn't fleshed out at all. The sex was badly written and took to long to get to.
Loved this new world, I loved these new characters and their story, and I can't wait to see where the series goes from here!
-3 or 4 stars.
-i was a little confused on who to root for and why, because none of the characters are heroes. they're kind of villains. and yet i'm still rooting for them. i mean, its a good story, just villain, definitely another villain, and another turns out to have a murderous streak. i do like this authors sense of humor.
"hmph. today's youth. too much sass, not enough class."
"and i thought i was bad at peopling. you have to be the worst peopler in history."
"as they'd talked, they'd had a moment of bonding, accepting that their baggage came in similar makes and models."
"why did you hangover our room?" she motioned to the damage to help him translate her meaning.
"oh. that. i had a bit of an argument with myself. i won."
"she wasn't putting sex back on the table or anything, but she wasn't storing her casserole dish in another room, either."
"someone had stripped and bathed her, then left her in her original packaging." [naked]
"i won't accept a repeat of my childhood. waiting and waiting for my turn to matter."
"tsk-tsk. you cannot make the monster, then complain when it bites you."
"i give you the three little words you have deserved for so long - you were right."

Love the concept, the characters, the story. Great read from start to finish. Can't wait for the next installment in this series.
