I wanted to like this book, but it just didn’t keep my attention, the dialogue at times felt kinda cringey and I just didn’t see/believe the allure of Aram…….it was meh at best

This wasn’t my favorite Christina C Jones book. It was a bit odd to be honest. I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series. It started off ok and had potential but as the story went on I began to lose interest. The FMC and MMC are immortal but she doesn’t do a good job of explaining how they got that way. There needed to be more world building for me and there just wasn’t.

I love romance, but paranormal is not my thing. I wanted to try this one because who doesn't love Christina C. Jones?I listened to the audiobook and I feel like the narrator ruined the story for me. I'm going to try again with the next one, but I'm going to read it.

An afrocentric take on paranormal...thank you Christina!

Paranormal is one of my favorite genres of fiction. I'm so happy this story takes a non-traditional approach to love and immortality. The intrigue had me from the arrival of the presence that materialized into the powerful and handsome man, Aram. It took some time for Khalida to recall her past, but when she did...honey, I was ALL in! I can't wait for the continuation.
