I’m actually super into this series now. After loving the last book I was eager to get into this one and it did not disappoint. Still exciting still fast paced but now entirely unpredictable. The world is expanding and gaining so much depth. Adam is my favorite character, now that I have a favorite character I feel like I care so much more about what happens. Characters and plot points that we briefly glossed over in previous books are making a come back and becoming significant. I’m so much more interested than I was at the start and I’m loving every moment of it.

Formatting and lack of down time are still an issue for me, but I’ve already talked about that. I really hope this series doesn’t end with the Garde transforming earth into the new Lorien. I’m not optimistic with the turn this took right at the end. Are we just reading about colonization but from opposite point of view than we first thought? I hope not but I guess I’m going to have to read on to find out.

Overall I had a blast reading this book. I finally feel like I care about the character and the slog of the middle few has definitely paid off. 4 stars.

This was the first book in the series I read physically instead of listening to on audiobook, so not hearing all the different characters' voices was weird at first, but the different fonts helped keep each character straight.
I really don't know what to make of the ending. Pittacus Lore usually ends these novels on a cliffhanger, but Sam possibly having telekinesis? I don't even know where to begin theorizing. I like the fact that Sarah is in a different part of the world doing her own thing with Mark James. I was hoping Mark would make a comeback at some point, and now he's here. It's cool to get filled in on what's happening with They Walk Among Us at the same time John gets filled in. And like always, I'm really enjoying the character dynamics. John and Nine with the government agents, Six, Marina, and Adam going to the Sanctuary, and Ella and Five trying to survive on the ship. Really enjoying seeing how all these characters intermingle with each other. I'm especially interested in seeing more of Adam and how he plays into this more. And Nine and Five are missing at the end of this book, so I just have to say if anything bad happens to Nine I'm going to be really upset, he's my favorite of the Garde right now. So much is going to happen in the next book, I can feel it.
