A cute bartender with a soft spot for the military, family and romance? I mean…
The plot was promising but I couldn’t get past the many misused words, editing errors and factual problems.
I liked this at first but Gemma made really hurtful choices. Rather than getting some damn therapy for what she'd been thru she instead hurt someone who wanted to date her. I get being hurt but we can't treat everyone as the same. Then things really picked up and she started to trust Zack until that damned letter and she decides to be a coward and push him away. She sees him as just like her dead cheating husband and ffs I wanted to smack her and then throw her into a therapist's office.
Zack is so incredibly sweet and thoughtful. Honestly he deserved better. He had been hurt in the past too but he wasn't treating Gemma badly bc of it. All 3 stars for Zack.
The dead husband being referred to as an ex was weird. Also how were they college sweethearts when he was like 6yrs older than her?? Smth isn't adding up.
I can't wait for authors to stop using words like g*pped which are based in racism and harmful to communities.

Instagram is trollllling me: want another sports romance??? And I’m like noOo
A book about a female football fan who has season tickets to the Chicago Bears sounds like the perfect book for me. I am also a female football fan from Chicago. The Bears are my team. Sounds great, right? Not so much.
First of all, I have to things about this book that stuck in my craw. The are:
Gemma referred to her ex-husband. He's dead. They were married when she died. He was not her ex-husband.
They kept talking about the "kiss cam" at Soldier Field. They don't do kiss cams at football games, especially Soldier Field (where I was a season ticket holder).
Ok, back to the story. I freaking loved Zach. He's a great guy who gave up so much for his family, and he's a hopeless romantic. He meets Gemma and he's instantly smitten. Gemma's plan is to take a different guy to each home game, to get herself back into the market. She doesn't count on meeting Zach.
The reason I gave this book only 3 stars was Gemma. She was a really hard character to like. On paper, we have a lot in common. Both football fans from Chicago. But this girl, who was hurt, which I get, my god. She just wouldn't budge on her stand to give Zach a chance. It made her so hard to like.
I did like the way this book ended and it had a good ending. But overall, I couldn't relate to the heroine, which made the book less likable for me.

An extremely realistic story of two people who have been hurt in the past learning to trust again. I appreciate seeing the thought and effort going into making this book relatable and realistic. Thank you Kandi Steiner for that! I loved this book so much!
