I absolutely loved Zach in this book, but honestly, Gemma not so much. Something about her just didn’t do it for me. She seemed kind of flighty, immature and blah, which is so unlike most heroines this author writes.
The story line was sweet and the chemistry was hot. I loved the sports theme of the story and how it tied everything together for this couple.
I listened to this book on audio and absolutely swooned over the narration! It was perfect.

You know at feeling you get when your a few pages into a book and you just know "it" - it being the fact that you are hooked and you won't be getting much sleep until you finish. Yes, not 5 pages into The Wrong Game and I experienced that tightness in my chest. As soon as I met Gemma and learned of her rule on love and the reason for it knew I'd be reading about a young womens heartache and would experience great sadness on her behalf. I loved and understood her little plan. Her new rule on life and love is troubling, but she meets the most amazing young man, one who may be able to change her mind, although Zach faces an uphill battle as Gemma is stubborn and carries her pain deep.
Kandi Steiner is a preeminent writer of wrongs being made right. She provides Gemma with a bestie that feeds her soul. The relationship between Belle and Gemma is inspiring, giving Gemma a voice of reason. But what really inspired me was Zach Bowen. He's willing to put his heart out there, to get the girl. He recognizes the uniqueness of his connection with Gemma. These two together are FUN, sweet, and sexy. But remember Gemma is stubborn and her heart hasn't forgotten the betrayal and pain she's experienced..
There are moments this story made my heart soar and moments it broke. Almost instantly it became one of my favorites by her, competing against so many other favorites. The writing is clever and thoughtful. As much as it hurt I loved the journey Gemma and Zach shared and I highly recommend The Wrong Game.

3.5 stars. Very enjoyable! Predictable but heartwarming.
It was cute. Definitely kept me interested and a new premise on overcoming trauma. The part where she broke I broke with her. Would I recommend? Yes. Would I read the book again? no.
I really enjoyed this book. It really put me into the fall spirit and just made me feel cozy inside. I don't know how to explain it. I am absolutely love a sports romance but usually the guy plays the sport. In this book the main guy does not and I will say that that was a little bit of a disappointment but I truly did enjoy the story. I will definitely be looking into the other books in the series.
Kandi Steiner is the queen of unique plot twists, relationship challenges, and stories that are angsty but incredibly sweet and heart-warming. And this is another one of those stories. How does a woman get beyond such an infuriating ex-husband? With great difficulty. Anything less than the drama Gemma and Zach faced would have been unrealistic for the challenges they had experienced. So well-written. One of the sweetest male main characters ever.

LISTEN. This book was a full blown 2003 era Rom-Com in book form.
The comedy. The spice. The cheese. The swoon.
I would probably add this to my sacred rom-com royalty VHS collection (you know the ones) if it was in movie form. It would, however, be one of the few with an R rating (knowwhatimean
