for me
I loved this book. I wanted to give it four stars because it was so good but I can’t with the ending. Now the ending wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. I don’t think that the couple getting engaged made sense. Now it was cute and all but I think it would have made sense later on. Like if there was a bigger time jump or a second time jump to a year or two later. That would make more sense to me especially since her ex husband only died like a little over a year so it just didn’t fit for me. But the story was great. The miscommunication/scared trope was a tiny bit annoying especially sense the girl did it so much and then basically said never-mind 2 seconds later. If that was toned down the book would have been a four and if the ending was also better than it would have been a five stars. There was also little things not ever tied up. Like the letters and I think the girl totally should have seen a therapist but whatever. Overall it was a good book and I enjoyed it. I would say it was average. 3/5

Spoke from a duel perspective this book will capture you from the start.
I really felt with Gemma as she has been hurt and is struggling to cope with that pain. The anxiety is strong and you really feel for her as she's wanting to control herself.
The tension between Gemma and Zach is there from the start and being able to have the duel perspective is great for knowing how they both feel!
It's a real down to earth book that you can really resonate with, we've all been hurt by people.
If you're looking for a spicy romance then this is for you!

This was great until the third act conflict. Luckily, I enjoyed the story so much that I wanted to reach the end.

Gemma vowed to never fall in love again after the heartbreak she has undergone. So the new plan is to utilize her season pass football tickets to date but it must be a new guy every game. No repeats. She will get back out there while not risking her heart. Zach the bartender overhears this crazy plan while bartending and he volunteers to go to the first game with her. Except Zach doesn’t want just one date. He wants more dates, Gemma is the only thing that is preventing that. She is determined to not catch feelings. Easy simple read.
4.5 stars
"It was as if those eyes knew me, like we were playing a game and he was three moves ahead."
One thing you have to know before reading this book is, that Kandi Steiner is one of the girls who feel everything. If this author is not new to you, you know this by now. And because she feels everything, she has this amazingly talent to write books like The Wrong Game.
"She was like a Rubik's Cube in a blind man's hand - impossible to figure out. And yet I was the blind man determined to try."
Believe me if I say, this book has truly everything a romance readers heart wishes for. It has easy lovable characters with great development. Characters like you and me with feelings that get transported through an awesome writing right into your bones. It also has fun and is entertaining, it has depth and is pretty fascinating. It's a slow burn on a very high level.
"I can't walk away from you. Not yet. Maybe not ever."
Zach and Gemma, both early marked by life, left with wounds they yet have to learn how to heal. They, their feelings and struggles feel real. Like right out of the real life. And even though there seems to be a kind of insta-attraction, they don't act on it. They try to work it out. I really loved that about this book. Zach and Gemma worked so well together it was a pleasure to follow their story.
And yes, Gemma's bestie Belle is totally worth to mention. She's a stunning friend, a soulmate like my own best friend. I can't tell you how important this is in life!
"We were in it together, no matter what was to come, and we would fight for the win. For each other. Until the last whistle blew."
The Wrong Game is a fantastic emotional ride, that you definitely don't want to miss out on!

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!!!!!! I don't think I have ever related to a heroine more, even if she was a bears fan and not a pats fan. I want to be Gemma and have all of those football experiences she wanted!!
