I'm actually incredibly disappointed with this book. The premise was great, and I liked the hero. It really all fell downhill when the heroine decided she didn't need therapy after some pretty traumatic events and instead just decided that she was going to trust and love again. It's immature, unrealistic, and boring. 1.5 stars.

I really loved the premise and tone of this book. I thought it could have gone much farther into the healing aspects for the MC than it did. It would have been a better book if MC actually worked on healing instead of drama filled mind changes both ways.

THE WRONG GAME is one of those books that is so adorable yet manages to bring out all of my emotions. I loved Gemma and Zach and how Kandi wrote a sports romance without it being a sports romance you know what I mean?
Gemma lives for lists, rules and plans. She has every part of every day planned out and doesn’t handle not being in control well. Enter Zach Bowen, bartender, hopeless romantic and a guy who takes life as it comes.
There is no way these two could work…or could they?
Gemma is a loyal fan to the Bears and has two seasonal tickets. Her best friend Belle decides that this would be the perfect opportunity to take a “date” to each game, a different guy to each game with no feelings attached. Just a good time between two Bears fans. Seems simple enough right?
Zach decides he is the perfect guy to see as a “practice round” for the first game.
Zach saw something in Gemma despite knowing her closed off view of love (which she has for proper reasons!) but he is still determined to break through her walls. He knew it would be hard but he was up for the challenge and boy what a challenge it was!
Between Zach’s over the top romantics and Gemma’s independence and vulnerability, their chemistry off the charts! It wasn’t just their chemistry though — their back and forth banter, their connection, their laughs and everything that made them, them made THE WRONG GAME an amazing sports romance (without being a stereotypical sports romance).
Also can Belle please please please get her own book?! She is hilarious and I need more of her in my life!

I was flipping through videos on Facebook and heard a snippet of this story and instantly fell in love. I was sad when the short video ended because I just wanted to hear more! This was so cute. Just a nice story about a woman coming back from her messy first marriage and finding someone that will truly care for her.
TikTok made me do it! Anyone else download the app during quarantine and get completely sucked in?! My mom and I love sending vids back and forth. I honestly don’t think I've learned as much or belly-laughed as hard from an app before, so it’s been fun! I came across Kandi Steiner’s viral TikTok video for this book and was hooked! Even better? It was on Kindle Unlimited.
.
This was (surprisingly) my first Kandi Steiner book so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Let me give you a hint: chemistry, steam and one liners galore. Zach and Gemma are about as different as two people can get. While Zach is a wild card, jump with both feet in type, Gemma is more reserved, still healing after the ultimate heartbreak. The friendship these two build quickly turns into something so much hotter and completely uncontrollable. A perfect blend of sweet romance, witty banter and sexiness, Kandi Steiner promised a love story and she delivered!
.
When Gemma is delivered the one two punch of finding out her husband is not only cheating, but dying, she is left emotionally raw. Her best friend pressures her to move on and find a new guy after his death, but typical dating sites are not doing it for Gemma. With season tickets to the Chicago Bears games, Gemma decides what better way to get back out there then with some dates to a football game? She plans on finding a new guy for each game, just enough to dip her toes in without having to commit to anything. She never planned on meeting charming and persuasive Zach. When he suggests she use him as her practice run, he takes her up on it. What happens next was never part of the plan, but sometimes it’s nice to be surprised.

So cute!
I loved this story. I loved how parts of it gave me butterflies. I feel like I cried through most of it because it was sweet how much he loved her. I do wish there had been more “fluff” of things happening outside of just work, the games and then spending time together but it made it an easy and quick read.

This is my first book by Kandi Steiner, and now I know it won’t be the last. The Wrong Game had everything I wanted in a book. Gemma and Zach’s story is on I totally recommend for everyone to read. Gemma has suffered a lot, Zach tries to help Gemma, but the connection and bonding they form is impossible to not notice and do something about it.
