I liked this one. A bit short through the middle, but I like how it wrapped up.

Another great installment in the Wayward Children series! This one had me experiencing all the emotions. Also, really appreciated the content warning at the beginning. There’s some definite heavy topics in here, so a heads up was a really good idea.

I feel so bad for poor Antsy. She went from a neglectful/abusive home, to a self-serving, deceptive home. But I was so relieved when she ran away from her mom and stepdad. And she at least learned a lot about life and the type of person she wanted to be while she was in the shop. Seeing her reach Eleanor and her school was so heartwarming. Especially when Eleanor reassured her there wasn’t any writing over her door except what she puts there. It’s like she knew Antsy had been taken advantage of in her Door.

The big thing about the store being it took her childhood?!
I hate metaphors and patterns actually, fuck you.
Hopefully we also get Antsy’s adventure of setting things right in that world

a metaphor for how childhood trauma effects internal age. i relate to antsy's grief for her lost childhood, and her struggle with the mismatch between her soul and her body.

Interesting story.

A lost and found thrift store where kids can go to prevent being hurt further from custodial adults.

How do these lost kids get found? Is there a way back home? Are they the same when they return? Does everything have a cost that must be paid? These are some of the questions that are answered.
