Cool detective noir. A little dated...Chandler holds up better.

Darker than anything else he wrote, despite the complicated plot and countless characters (most of whom end up killed) the structure is elegant and writing simple. It's filled with despair and bitterness, but you don't feel too bad becasue nobody is innocent.

One of the best books i've read so far this 2019. It's a classic and it definitely deserves that title. It's funny, amazingly witty, shocking, interesting. Hard to believe that it's almost 100 years old!!

First novel by the hard-boiled master. This novel moves fast and packs a punch. For anyone interested in the hard-boiled school of detective stories, this one is a must.
