A Classic

Obviously, this book was a labor of love for Pyle and it shows. Although not a fun and merry as The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood but perfect in tone to the heart of the Arthurian Legends.

The language in this novel both calls back to the old epic poems of Medieval legends and is accessible for any wanting for learn more of lore surrounding King Arthur.

Some of the tales in this I haven't encountered in other versions of King Arthur's story, and some offered a different twist, so I enjoyed discovering them.

The overblown, oldy-worldly writing style caught be off guard at first, but it did suit the tales of knightly chivalry, so I've come to appreciate it.
