4.5

A stunning novel that deals with very delicate and difficult themes, written in a captivating voice that just draws you in and featuring a trio of main characters who are interesting (yet still enigmatic to the reader - I think by design). This book was heavy, as it deals with the lifelong traumas of its characters and how these traumas continually intertwine and unbraid. Giving it 4.5 stars only because I craved knowing more about the characters, particularly Aubrey who seemed the least developed of the three (revealed to the audience in short, segmented bursts rather than paced throughout).
