First book of the year down. I loved this. I always forget that Marissa Meyer has such a way with words that really makes yourself get lost in the book.  I love retellings and she’s the Queen on them. Can’t wait to jump into Cursed!

It’s tricky because I believe Marissa Meyer is a master at her craft. This was genius storytelling, in my opinion, but I also don’t like scary things and I would classify this book as horror. Sooo I’m amazed by the storytelling and horrified by the contents.

Brutal but beautifully written classic horror fairytale with undead, monsters, witches and faery folk,  tricks and tales of love and lost worlds .. Adventures and passing through the veil with the wild hunt under the full moons... Trigger warnings: children and innocents violently killed.
