This book is very well written and enjoyable… until it’s not. Worth a read, but the characters’ decisions toward the end made me cringe so hard I stopped reading for a good month. If you like cheesy rom-coms, you’ll like this one. Definitely glad I finished it though. One thing I’ll say that was really refreshing about this book was the lack of homophobia. I don’t think this is a spoiler to say. A lot of queer romance books have a heavy homophobia theme, so having one without that is really nice. Overall, this book is a cute and fun read.
It just could’ve done without the intense sobbing and “you’re better off without me” trope. Those couple chapters soured the whole book. Without them, this book would have been like a 4.5/5 for me. Harsh? Maybe. I’m probably biased because I really can’t stand that specific trope. I genuinely really enjoyed the book outside of that though, so it’s hard to not be disappointed at how that was handled.

Are you actually kidding me? I loved this so much! The characters were so funny and witty and the romance was fun and sweet. I gobbled this up and didn’t want the story to be over BUT THE HEA WAS SO CUTE. I loved this. Loved it!

Tansy and Gemma are both delightfully flawed, perfectly human, and so funny. Their love built from the first moment they saw each other until the very last page and was just so beautiful. The friends and allies were loveable and quippy without being over the top and the villains were perfect to root against. This is definitely on my list of Sapphic rom coms to suggest to anyone looking to get into the subgenre and I can't wait to read the rest of Bellefleur's books!
