Literally just everything. Cinnamon roll/prickly, marriage of convenience, no miscommunication, minimal third act breakup. STUNNINGGGGGG

The Fiancée Farce was a cute, cheesy romcom that I absolutely blasted through! Tansy and Gemma are so cute, and I loved reading their story.

I’d never read a marriage of convenience book before, and while this wasn’t exactly what I was expecting I was pleasantly surprised! The communication was AMAZING and so healthy and what everyone should strive toward. They were so open with each other and so willing to be vulnerable, and I appreciated that a lot.

I will say that everything felt a little bit more exaggerated than my usual preference. Obviously most romcoms are cheesy, but this one felt particularly far fetched. Did that stop me from enjoying it? Absolutely not! This book was so fun, and I have zero regrets.

I will definitely be reading more of Alexandria Bellefleur’s books. 4 stars.

Adorable, low-angst sapphic romance. It’s more of a fake engagement than a true marriage of convenience story
(by the time the marriage rolls around in the penultimate chapter the leads are already in love with each other),
but it was pulled off quite well for a contemporary. I really enjoyed the lack of drama between the couple and the excellent level of communication they had. I also loved that they were both bi since bi4bi sapphic romances seem to be vanishingly rare!

There were a few too many side characters in my opinion, especially since quite a few of them had important plot points (and most of them were frankly awful people). It was hard to keep them all straight since a few of them had very similar names and between them they took up way too much page-time.

I do hate the UK cover though. While the US cover has its issues (Tansy is explicitly described as curvy and several sizes bigger than Gemma), it's so much better.

I just love Alexandria Bellefleur’s writing style! Her books have such sweet and tender romances and this one is no different. She’s also one of the best at the found family trope, she write the most supportive and loving friends. I always want to dive into the book and join the friendship circle. Gemma and Tansy really see each other. I also love the moment of mutual pining before they shared their feelings with one another. I might be dwelling on all the sweetness in this review but don’t get me wrong this book is sexy too! I definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a romance that makes you feel like you were hugged.

Thank you Avon for an Arc in exchange for an honest review!

This is one of those books that within the first 25 pages I knew it was going to be a five star read for me. The tension, the spice, all of it was on point and had me smiling from ear to ear. I loved all the the adorable and sometimes cheesy pop culture reference, especially the Taylor Swift ones.

Bellefleur was able to have so many tropes in this book fit together so seamlessly; Marriage of Connivance/fake dating, a little bit of one bed trope, and opposites attract. I also really loved that Gemma's family totally felt like the family from Knives out, since they are blind sided when she is the one set to inherit Van Dalen publishing, not the men they suspected would.

The relationship between Gemma and Tansy is absolutely fantastic. Gemma is unabashedly herself, impatient and forward. While Tansy is introverted, but used her voice for the things she loves and believes in. I love how open they are with each other, there is no miscommunication which to me makes the book that much hotter.

I loved the bisexual and anxiety rep that was present. I also HIGHLY suggest listening to Taylor Swift while reading (if you can listen to music while you read) it made of the parts of the book just that much better.

My two cretics would be 1. that some of the side characters aren't as fully fleshed out as I would have personally liked them to be. and 2. In future novels that Bellefleur writes (this is my own personal opinion and just something I have noticed after reading all her books) I would like to see more bipoc characters.
