This method finally did the trick in helping me with a cleaning schedule! 5 daily tasks, 5 weekly tasks, and helpful references on the forgotten tasks (like dusting the top of the walls). The daily tasks are more of a routine than a part of my cleaning time. The weekly tasks (1 per day, with a catch-up day and an off day) take me 5-15 minutes, depending on the task. For reference, I live in a 1-story, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home.

3.5 stars. The writing was clear, engaging and personable! I found many of the systems and suggestions helpful and motivating. However, it was a mistake to read too much of the book at once, as it quickly felt overwhelming. I lost track of some of the useful points as I was inundated with more information. Additionally, there were definitely parts of this system that won't work for my family, so it would take some significant adapting to actually implement in my life.

Good but not groundbreaking.

The routines set forth seem perfectly sensible, but the "10 minutes" claim from the title is a bald-faced lie, and the contents make no effort to back up the claim.

"If today is a Monday, you're going to clean bathrooms (because Monday is bathroom cleaning day). Then you're going to tackle a little clutter, do a load of laundry, wipe the counters, make your bed, and sweep up that mess from dinner. These tasks are going to be sprinkled throughout your day or maybe you'll accomplish them all at once after breakfast."

There's no world in which that takes a total of ten minutes- and the author clearly doesn't expect them to take only ten minutes, or why would you sprinkle them throughout your day?

As someone who wasn't really taught a system to clean a house other than Saturday morning the entire house gets cleaned, this book has opened my eyes to the easy way to keep my house maintained. The book is a quick read and actually, I just read it through to get a clue. I've been doing the Day 1-7 for a few weeks and am astounded how quickly my house is looking really clean. And I haven't even been following it 100%. Suppose it is common sense but by the 3rd Tuesday to dust, there really isn't anything to dust so definitely can dust the house in less than 10 minutes. With the quick almost daily sweep of my kitchen floor and the weekly vacuuming, I'm now getting up less dirt in my vacuuming.

The first week you go through the days, it did take me longer. My kitchen floor really needed a scrubbing. But just mopped for the 3rd week in a row. Resweeping, prep of making easy solution to mop with, putting up what was on the floor and mopping Laundry room and Kitchen took maybe 12 minutes. The floor looks great and my kitchen, though not spotless, does look clean enough to have a nosey neighbor with white gloves come by. I'm thrilled with the changes in my house without having to spend gobs of hours to keep it that way.

This cleaning system is a winner. I've tried others that never worked. I don't know how but her plans work. In a month or two, I'll start adding in her monthly to do items.
