Pretty awesome. I am not one to pick up post-apocalyptic fiction, but I read an excellent review of this and had to try it. I am still not going to read a lot of "almost everyone is dead, humans are all pretty shitty, and there's dead bodies everywhere (no zombies, though)" books, but this one got under my skin from the very first pages and I couldn't walka way from it. It is compulsively readable, believable-partially due to the unexplained nature of this apocalypse, and just unsettling enough. I recommend this for.... hrm. I guess anyone who wants to read about young people (the main character is 18) who have to redefine themselves at a moment's notice for something which they are completely unprepared.

Good One, Mr. Ward.
