Megan Whalen Turner has done it again. The world, the characters, the plot, the writing, it's all perfection.

It’s nice to read first person perspective again and see the world unfold through another character's eyes. In this case, Kamet. The book is filled with adventure, twist and twist and even more twists. I had predicted a few parts and yet still finished the story needing more. Will I reread this? Absolutely! I feel upon a reread I'll pay better attention and pick up in the details that Kamet took way too long to identify (even tho it's funny how short-sighted he can be sometimes but it's understandable coming from his experiences and walk in life). I'm so scared for book 6 and have my tissues ready bc Turner often will write things that make my heart hurt aka the scene with Irene.

Turner is a master of her craft. Twenty pages in, and I am completely back in the world and the story, despite the years since the last book and without feeling like she took a break to catch everyone up. I am also completely entranced and unlikely to put the book down until I'm done unless interruption is unavoidable.

This book continued to be amazing. I loved Kamet, loved seeing things through his eyes, loved the fact that even though I was expecting twists, she still flipped something I never thought to doubt on its head at the last second.
